Shannon, Chung join Joseph Gordon-Levitt thriller Premium Rush

While the premise sounds a little hokey, I've been interested in the bike messenger thriller, Premium Rush, only because it stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt. He stars as a bike messenger who picks up a mysterious package, then finds himself hunted down by a corrupt cop who desperately wants what's inside. After the film was first announced with JGL as the star, not much has come across the wire. Now we find out that two of my favorite actors have signed on for major roles: Michael Shannon and Jamie Chung.

Shannon, who stole Revolutionary Road right out from under Dicaprio and Winslet a couple years ago, will play the cop hunting down Levitt's character.  Shannon can be seen in Jonah Hex right now, although to be honest I didn't even notice him if he was.

The Talent Show alum Jamie Chung is probably best recognized from her stint on MTV's The Real World. She's most recently been seen in Sorority Row, which I liked quite a bit, and Dragonball: Evolution....which I did not. In Premium Rush she'll be playing JGL's former flame who also happens to be a daredevil bike messenger just like him.

You can read more of THR's coverage of the story here.
