Tops at the Box Office!

1. Toy Story 3- $109M
Coming as absolutely no surprise, Pixar's latest ran roughshod over last week's holdovers and the one other new release this week. TS3 set a company record for opening weekend box office, surpassing The Incredibles, but failed to match Shrek the Third's gross of $121M. It still set the single day record for an animated feature, helped out by showing on 3200 3-D screens which accounted for 60% of the total intake.

2. The Karate Kid- $29M/$106M
Took a bit of a whuppin' this week by Buzz and the gang, but after two weeks the remake has already crossed the $100M threshold, and is likely to stick around for awhile.

3. The A-Team- $13.8M/$49.8M
This has to be a disappointment, given the cast and the huge amount of buzz surrounding it. $50M wouldn't be too shabby after 2 weeks for any other film that didn't have such hype. It just ran into too many blockbuster buzzsaws in The Karate Kid and Toy Story.

4. Get Him to the Greek- $6.12M/$47.9M

5. Shrek Forever After- $5.52M/$223M

6. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time- $5.27M/$80.5M
The smallest drop of the week, although it's mediocre attendance might have something to do with that. If it continues at this pace, Persia could possibly pass the $100M mark in a few weeks.

7. Killers- $5.1M/$39.4M
That's about $30M more than this film deserves.

8. Jonah Hex- $5.08M
Proof that DC properties other than its superhero icons need not be made into feature films. Following up on the complete bust that was The Losers(opened at $9M), Jonah Hex couldn't even get its horse out of the gate. It had far too much working against it: Westerns are always a tough sell, but supernatural Westerns even moreso. A main character who is not appealing to look at and barely able to be understood in TV spots. And it doesn't help that it's a character almost nobody is familiar with.

9. Iron Man 2- $2.67M/$304M

10. Marmaduke- $2.65M/$27.9M
