) co-star. *Take a popular, one-note character and drive it into the friggin' ground. That's what Tom Cruise is looking to do as he blurted out at this past weekend's MTV Movie Awards that he's looking to make a feature film based on Les Grossman, the loud mouthed agent character he made famous in Tropic Thunder. Sure it's the most popular thing Cruise has done in years, but I'd rather see him bounce on Oprah's furniture...or watch his awkward un-romantic appearances alongside wife/captive/baby factory Katie Holmes. Anything other than this.
*Consider all movie adaptations of the classic Japanese cartoon Voltron dead and buried in a scrapyard somewhere. Variety reports that the project, which has jumped from studio to studio over the last couple of years, is officially off the table. Last I had heard was that a script by Justin Marks was making the go 'round, but it never seemed to get anywhere. They'll focus instead on the no doubt mind numbingly bad Nicktoons cartoon, Voltron Force, which will also relaunch a toyline aimed at the kiddies.
