Will Smith goes biblical in The Legend of Cain

Who suddenly decided that now is the perfect time to start pilfering every possible story from the Bible and turning it into an action flick? The latest to get into the game is Will Smith, who is attached to star in The Legend of Cain. As the name might suggest, it's a retelling of the story of Cain and Abel. There's a difference though, in that this one has a vampiric twist.

The script was written by Caleeb Pinkett(Jada's younger bro) and Dan Knauf(Carnivale). Andrea Berloff(the upcoming NWA biopic) assisted on the writing chores as well.

I don't like the sound of this already, but I doubt Smith would sign on to any half ass projects at this point. Oh wait...Seven Pounds....so yeah, I guess he would. It just sounds like a forced pairing, and it makes me wonder if they got the idea from 2009's Thirst, which featured a religious figure who was turned into a vampire. I doubt this will be better than that, but let's just see how this thing develops.
