A brand new full-length trailer has been released for Dreamworks' upcoming teen sci-fi flick, I Am Number Four. The story revolves around a group of nine human resembling aliens hiding out here on Earth in an attempt to escape those who destroyed their home planet. It isn't long before they're found, and they begin to be killed off one by one. Three of their number are dead, and now the fourth(Alex Pettyfer) is on their hit list.
When the teaser trailer came out awhile back I lamented how it seemed to be trying really hard to look like a sci-fi Twilight. I still feel that way after this trailer, but what I really like about it is the way it focuses on the backstory, building up a history that puts the rather generic plot into better context. Color me cautiously optimistic about this. There's a lot of buzz surrounding it as the next big "Twilight". I actually hope it turns out to be much better than that.
I am Number Four stars Alex Pettyfer, Timothy Olyphant, Teresa Palmer, and Dianna Agron. DJ Caruso(Disturbia) directed, with Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg producing. Look for it when it hits theaters on February 18th 2011!
