A pair of writers scared up for Paranormal Activity 3
Paranormal Activity has taken the horror crown away from Saw and run with it. After destroying Jigsaw two years ago with the debut film, it went on to crush Saw's overblown finale by nearly 2 to 1 domestically. With the series now a Halloween staple, movement on the third film began months ago, and now we know who'll be scripting it. Meet the new writers, same as the old writers: Michael Perry and Christopher Landon.
The duo were credited as co-writers on Paranormal Activity 2, which saw the world's most passive aggressive demon moving his act from terrorizing couples to whole families. Actually the film was a prequel, and an effective one in that it clarified a lot of questions I had after the first flick. I'm going to assume that this third installment will do much the same thing.
Oren Peli, who created the Paranormal Activity concept and directed the first movie, will remain on board as producer and will likely assist in the scripting as well. No word yet on who'll be directing, but popular opininon seems to be that Tod Williams will be returning. Look for Paranormal Activity 3 to hit theaters on October 21st 2011.
