C. Thomas Howell's role in Spider-Man revealed!

Well, there go my hopes that C. Thomas Howell would be playing Robbie Robertson in Marc Webb's Spider-Man relaunch. Instead it looks like he could possibly be playing a new, mostly unknown character in the Spidey-verse. 

Entertainment Weekly reports that Howell's reps say he'll be playing a character named "Ray," but have no other details. (The name does not immediately ring any bells in Spider-Man lore, other than possibly Ray Cooper, the supposedly deceased father of Spidey’s current comic book girlfriend Carlie.)

Ray Cooper has been revealed in the comics to be a past associate of Captain George Stacy, the father of Peter Parker's presumed movie love interest, Gwen Stacy(played by Emma Stone). So that's a pretty good bet to be the "Ray" they're referring to.

Or he could just be some random dude.  Only time will tell.
