Taylor Lautner is only 18 years old, and he could already buy and sell me a hundred thousand times over. That's all thanks to him showing off his abs all the friggin' time in those Twilight movies everybody's so in love with. I guess he does look pretty good opposite the ghostly frail Robert Pattinson. Whatever, the fact is he's already got his post-Twilight path lined up, and he's reeling in a pretty penny while he does it.
Deadline reports on Lautner's upcoming non-Twilight flicks in 2011, which he'll squeeze in while also trying to wrap up Breaking Dawn. They state that Fox 2000 and New Regency have slapped down an 8-figure payday for the young star to headline two of their movies this year, surpassing the $7.5M he recently earned to topbill the awful sounding Stretch Armstrong flick.
The first film, Incarceron, is based on Catherine Fisher's sci-fi novel and features Lautner as a character living "in a futuristic prison society". His love interest in that film is currently being cast right now, with Jennifer Lawrence, Blake Lively, and Emma Watson as potentials. How cool would that be? Two of the hottest stars of the two biggest young adult film adaptations of all-time pairing up? How can Fox possibly pass that up?
New Regency's film is described by Deadline as "The Bourne Identity for the next generation". Lautner's action hero cred will be put to the test later this year when Abduction, his first solo starring gig, releases on September 23rd.
Reportedly, Lautner's 2012 is also potentially booked up with some big name producers already looking to lock him down for their big franchise flicks, in particular Michael Bay and his Platinum Dunes label who are looking to work with the actor on pretty much anything. There's also a script floating around for an adaptation of R.A. Salvatore's Demon Wars; plus an untitled film from the producers of Hairspray. Let's hope it's not Hairspray 2. I don't want to see the wolfboy dance.
