Jay Roach to direct Game Change, about the 2008 Presidential Campaign

For fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the name Danny Strong no doubt brings back memories of poor, lonely Jonathan Levinson, who wanted so badly to be a part of the Scooby Gang and ended up dying over it. Strong played him for five seasons on the show, but most people probably don't know that Strong's become something of a force in the television movie world. In 2008 he paired up with director Jay Roach(Meet the Parents) on the HBO film, Recount, which followed the illegal installation of George W. Bush as President back in 2000. Recount was a huge hit for the cable network, and now Strong and Roach appear to be working together again on another politically charged project.

The duo will be teaming up on an adaptation of Game Change, the 2010 novel by Mark Haperin and John Heilemann, which took an in depth look at the 2008 presidential race between Barack Obama and John McCain.  The book became notable for revealing previously unknown comments made by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid about Barack Obama.

Recount managed to take one of the most depressing chapters in this country's electoral history and turn it into a fun, zany experience. The campaign between Obama and McCain was often extremely nasty, but there were no shortage of hilarious moments. I have no doubt this is going to be an entertaining flick. No hanging chads, unfortunately, maybe we'll get a Joe the Plumber moment. Any chance they can get Tina Fey to play Sarah Palin?
