Quentin Tarantino planning spaghetti western with Franco Nero, Keith Carradine?

Any news involving Quentin Tarantino and possible future projects is good news. While I wait anxiously for the Blu-Ray release of Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair or any news on Kill Bill 3(rumored in 2014), others are already lining up to work with the director. Such as Italian superstar actor, Franco Nero(Letters to Juliet), who says his next flick is going to be a spaghetti western homage to Sergio Leone(The Dollars Trilogy), and Tarantino will be involved. Somehow.

The Playlist has the story, noting that the film will be called The Angel, The Bad and The Wise. Clearly a play on Leone's The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.  Exactly what role Tarantino will play in the production of this film is unknown, but the director has a deep rooted love of the genre. At one point he referred to Kill Bill as potentially his own "Dollars Trilogy".

Nero also states that a very Tarantino-esque group of actors are chomping at the bit to be a part of the film...

Nero: “We have already been signed by a dozen people who will be part of project. Among the filmmakers involved include Quentin Tarantino , Keith Carradine, Treat Williams, fifteen people in all Americans who want to do this movie and so we are trying to produce it outside of Italy.”

Until this film is actually confirmed I'm not going to get too excited. It's possible Nero just had one glass of wine too many. Nero could also be having flashbacks of his first lead role in the Sergio Corbucci's spaghetti western, Django. Considering Tarantino's obvious desire to make a film of the genre, this is one rumor that can't be totally dismissed.  Let's just hope these comments by Nero are the first of many we hear on the subject in the coming days. A few words from Tarantino himself would be nice!
