Sure Shots: Halle Berry; Cogan's Trade; Freida Pinto

* Wait, didn't Halle Berry escape the hell hole that was New Year's Eve? And wasn't she replaced by Katherine Heigl?  Well she's back, but she won't be taking anything away from Heigl, so both of her rabid fans can simmer down. Nope, Berry will be returning to Garry Marshall's jam packed romantic comedy in an all new role.  Also signing on is Carla Gugino(Sin City), playing a doctor who helps take care of the characters played by Seth Meyers and Jessica Biel.  It'd be awesome if after all these damned names have agreed to be in the flick it simply never happens. They just sorta forget to shoot the thing. That would make me very happy indeed.

* If you saw the amazing Aussie crime flick, Animal Kingdom, then you were witness to one of the most uncomfortable murder scenes in any movie last year. At the center of that scene was Ben Mendelsohn as the creepy and nervous Pope Cody. Mendelsohn was so good in fact, that he just earned himself a spot in Cogan's Trade, directed by Andrew Dominik(The Assassination of Jesse James). He'll be joining the recently signed Scoot McNairy as one of the two junkies that rob the mob controlled poker game.

* Freida Pinto has signed to star in Michael Winterbottom's(The Killer Inside Me) film, Trishna, based on Thomas Hardy's novel Tess of the d’Urbervilles.  The film is a rolicking, fun filled piece(yeah right!) about a woman who suffers emotional and physical turmoil while attempting to secure her rightful place in the social order.  Enjoy!
