Dwayne Johnson signs on to Ric Roman Waugh's 'Snitch'

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is experiencing something of a career resurgence. Not that he's ever been out of the spotlight since he jumped from the WWE into full-time acting, it's just that he could've made smarter choices in the roles he selected. After starting out like the next big action star in films like The Scorpion King and The Rundown, he fell into a disastrous(but profitable) rut with movies like The Game Plan and Tooth Fairy. These flicks did nothing for his image. Thankfully he's been making his way back into the high octane realm with movies like Faster, Fast Five, and finding some middle ground in the Journey to the Center of the Earth sequel.  Now he's got another big action flick lined up.

Deadline reports that  Johnson has signed on to star in Snitch, a thriller which sees him as a father who goes undercover to catch the drug dealer responsible his son's false imprisonment. Ric Roman Waugh(Felon) will direct and assisted in polishing up the Justin Haythe(Revolutionary Road) script.

Johnson will be seen next in Fast Five, due out in theaters on April 29th!
