Mila Kunis gets wicked, will join Oz the Great and Powerful

Just goes to show what a relatively small role in a critically acclaimed flick can do for you. Mila Kunis has been the "It" girl ever since Black Swan(because it wasnt after Max Payne!!!!), with her name being mentioned for everything from Akira to Superman.  One of the big roles she'd been contemplating was as one of the witches in Sam Raimi's The Wizard of Oz prequel, Oz the Great and Powerful. She'd be playing Theodora, who eventually becomes the Wicked Witch of the West.  Back in February it was reported that she had in fact signed on, but afterwards she appeared to waffle a little bit. Now Variety confirms her participation, as well as keying us in on who else is being considered for the film's other major roles.

The story gives the impression that Theodora might be the Witch with the biggest part in the story, as she "starts out as a good witch, alongside her beautiful sister Glinda, but after her sexual advances are jilted by Franco's salesman, she's convinced by Evanora to switch sides and help her older sister rule Oz."  Variety reports that a number of names are up to play the other two Witches: Olivia Wilde, Amy Adams, Kate Beckinsale, Keira Knightley and Rebecca Hall.

Rebecca Hall seems like a perfect fit for Glinda, while I suspect Amy Adams might be out of the running with her recent decision to join the Superman relaunch.   James Franco is set to star as the slick illusionist who flees a traveling circus, only to be whisked away to the land of Oz by a tornado.  Franco and Kunis most recently paired up for a brief but hilarious cameo in Date Night, starring Tina Fey and Steve Carell. She'll next be seen in Friends with Benefits opposite Justin Timberlake.
