No Snow White and the Huntsman for Viggo; is Superman his next target?
Just last week Zack Snyder made it pretty clear that Viggo Mortensen wasn't going to be a part of his Superman movie. The actor had been rumored for some time as a possibility to play General Zod or whatever villain the story is going to feature. While no reason was given, the assumption was Mortensen's involvement with Snow White and the Huntsman, Rupert Sanders' action flick based on the classic fairy tale, would cause too much of a scheduling conflict. Now it's being reported that those conflicts might no longer be a concern, as Mortensen has dropped out of the running for the Snow White film, ending weeks of negotiations.
Mortensen was set to join Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron, playing the Huntsman hired to kill Snow White but winding up protecting her instead. The question now is whether or not this puts him back into contention for Superman? Variety reports that Snyder is apparently very "interested" in having Mortensen as the bad guy.
