Paul Giamatti makes for a perfect, lovable everyman in this heartfelt, uplifting comedy gem from Tom McCarthy. Giamatti shines as the down on his luck matriarch of a close-knit family who has his life(and his career) turned upside down by the arrival of a client's troubled grandson. A must-see film, fit for all ages.


DVD Pick of the Week: Stand By Me (25th Anniversary Edition) Blu-Ray
Anyone who was fortunate enough to catch Rob Reiner's powerful, heartwarming, and occasionally scary coming of age tale probably wished they had these kinds of adventures.  Stand By Me is as much about childhood freedom and expression as it is about the bonds of friendship.  Based on Stephen King's novella, The Body, the film follows four very different friends(Wil Wheaton, River Phoenix, Jerry O'Connell, and Corey Feldman) as they walk alongside the long train tracks to see the corpse of a fallen acquaintance. The journey is dangerous, but offers numerous opportunities for humor. A true classic.
