Um...Joseph Gordon-Levitt's The Dark Knight Rises role not revealed?

I can imagine Christopher Nolan and probably Joseph Gordon-Levitt himself laughing in their secret hide out right now. There seems to be some question as to who exactly JGL will be playing in The Dark Knight Rises, and the conflict is coming from two of the most credible sources in the biz: Variety and Entertainment Weekly

Over the weekend it was reported that JGL had signed on Nolan's Bat-flick, and that he would be playing Alberto "Holiday Killer" Falcone, son of deposed mob boss Carmine Falcone. Variety based their reporting on "insiders". Now Entertainment Weekly is essentially citing similar unnamed sources, "a source close to the situation" who says otherwise....

"A source close to the situation says that recent reports that Gordon-Levitt will play Alberto Falcone (a.k.a. the Holiday Killer) — the son of former mob kingpin, Carmine Falcone (Tom Wilkinson) — are incorrect. So, Batman fans: Begin the re-speculation now!"

So either two of the best news sites around are getting duped by Warner  Brothers, or they need to seriously reevaluate their studio snitches.  This whole thing will probably be wrapped up by the end of the night. Just watch.
