Good Deeds by way of Tyler Perry

Y'know, whenever a bit of Tyler Perry news hits the wire my nose immediately crinkles up and I generally look like somebody just farted in my vicinity. That's sorta how I feel about Perry's movies, one big gaseous stink. But it's hard to simply ignore the man. He's one of the most successful filmmakers in the world. He knows his audience and plays directly to them. Sure his movie suck, but don't tell his rabid fans that. They'll bite your head off.  They love them some Madea.  Perry's next film, however, won't be based on any of his Madea stage plays and will be an original work titled Good Deeds.

Variety reports that Perry will write/direct/produce Good Deeds, with plans for filming to begin later this month. Perry will star in the lead role as Glen Deeds, a successful "entrepeneur who's about to get married when he becomes enamored with a down-on-her-luck single mom."

Sounds like yet another perfect Perry vehicle. He'll be able to do that class warfare thing he loves to do(poorly) in all of his movies. No word on any other casting yet, but expect news on that soon. For one thing he's yet to cast the guy who'll be the "angry black male" stereotype.

Later this month, Perry's sixth Madea feature film is due to open in theaters. Madea's Big Happy Family will star Bow Wow, Lauren London(Next Day Air), Loretta Devine(Jumping the Broom), and the Old Spice Guy Isaiah Mustafa.
