Sure Shots: Monsters University; The Three Stooges; The Hobbit

* Hope you weren't too excited for Monsters University, Pixar's Monsters Inc. prequel. Why? Because they just bumped it back big time, from November 2012 to June 21st 2013! Taking it's place in the November slot now is Reboot Ralph. Don't know anything about that one? Me neither, other than that it's about a video game character who sees technology leaving him behind.  Awwww.

* The Farrelly Brothers' Three Stooges are 2/3 of the way complete! After Will Sasso was named as Curly just last week, now we find out that Sean Hayes(Will & Grace) will be Larry. Hayes was not on the shortlist of contenders we heard about last week. Oh well. So now there's just Moe, and with shooting set to begin this month expect that one to be filled within the next few days. Thanks to Deadline for info on this story.

* Bret McKenzie(Flight of the Conchords) had a couple of "blink and you'll miss me" scenes in two of Peter Jackson's previous Lord of the Rings movies as an unknown elf, dubbed Figwit by fans.  Jackson's wanted him back for The Hobbit, and whatever Jackson wants, he gets. Only this time McKenzie will be a character JRR Tolkein actually gave two craps about. He'll be Lindir, a Rivendell elf who listens to Bilbo Baggins' stories and poetry.  The role is very minor, but with Jackson needing to expand the story to fit two feature films, who knows how big it'll turn out to be.
