Sure Shots: Jay Baruchel; 21 Jump Street; The Three Stooges

* I know most people dug Jay Baruchel from Freaks and Geeks, but for me it was the short-lived Undeclared that made me a fan. He had one hell of a 2010, with turns in both She's Out of My League and How to Train Your Dragon. Now he's set to join David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis, about a rich guy's dangerous cross town trek in the back of a stretch limo. According to Deadline, Baruchel would play a financial whiz kid.  The cast is stacked right now: Robert Pattinson, Samantha Morton, Juliette Binoche, Sarah Gordon, Paul Giamatti, and Mathieu Amalric star.

* You probably recognize Rob Riggle as one of the tazer happy cops in The Hangover. The dude makes for a marvelous comedic bad guy, and he gets to show that off again as he's just signed on to play the "main villain" in the 21 Jump Street remake. He'll be going up against the the curious duo of Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum, playing a pair of undercover cops.

* The Farrelly Brothers are finally making headway on their version of The Three Stooges after what seems like an eternity. Recently, Will Sasso and Sean Hayes have been brought in to complete 2/3 of the trio as Curly and Larry respectively. We're still awaiting word on whether Hank Azaria takes on the Moe role, but for now Modern Family fans can rejoice in knowing that Sofia Vergara is in talks to play a femme fatale attempting to manipulate the moronic stooges.
