Try running a Google Alert on 'The Dark Knight Rises'. Just for a week. The vast majority of the news articles you'll get will be various city blogs stating that Christopher Nolan is planning on shooting his final Batman film in their fair town. Most of it's hogwash. Today one of the rumored cities to be hosting the shoot appears to have actually won out, as The Pittsburgh Post Gazette says it's now official.
Normally that wouldn't mean much, but they even have quotes from Nolan himself to back it up...
"Pittsburgh is a beautiful city. We have been able to find everything we were looking for here, and I am excited to spend the summer in Pittsburgh with our final installment of Batman."
That doesn't mean the whole film will shoot there, but some parts of town sure as heck bear a resemblance to Gotham City. And not the good parts of Gotham, I might add.
Just kidding, Pittsburgh's a great town. Any chance of Pittsburgh's own Olympic hero Kurt Angle to do a cameo? Maybe?
