Three brand new X-men: First Class character trailers
Thor will probably wind up being the biggest comic book movie we see all summer, but it's far from the one I'm most excited for. That would be X-men: First Class, of course, directed by Matthew Vaughn(Kick-Ass) and featuring the origins of the beef between Charles Xavier(James McAvoy) and Magneto(Michael Fassbender).
We've seen a ton of posters and trailers at this point, and I think we've got a pretty good handle on just what McAvoy and Fassbender are bringing to the table. The same goes for the 1960s setting, which I think positions the film uniquely amongst all the other comic book properties we'll be seeing in the coming years. But what we haven't seen much of are the students, the young mutants that will be influenced by the two charismatic rivals.
Three new brief, character trailers have been released to help get us more acquainted with likes of Beast(Nicholas Hoult), Havok(Lucas Till), and Banshee(Caleb Landry). The Banshee and Havok clips are actually pretty good, and I'm digging the modified containment suit created to control Havok's cosmic powers. But the Beast trailer features some pretty awful dialogue between Hank and Mystique. Fox might be doing more harm than good with that one, and might want to dial it back with the June 3rd release date right around the corner. Check out the clips below...
