New International Trailer for Rise of the Planet of the Apes

When the world finally ends, it'll be the apes that do us in. At least that's the message I've been getting from the trailers for Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Well, that and it'll be all our fault for using them as guinea pigs all these years. Why couldn't we be happy just having them as our loyal poo-throwing sidekicks? A new international trailer for the film is arguably the best one yet, although to me that's not saying much. I like that we get to see a lot more of John Lithgow as Charles Rodman, who seems to have an unusually strong connection to Caesar, the ape who goes apeshit insane and kicks off the whole nightmare.  James Franco's still stiff as a board, but I guess that's what happens when you're being outperformed by a bunch of primates.

Rupert Wyatt(The Escapist) directs. James Franco, John Lithgow, Freida Pinto, Brian Cox, and Andy Serkis(as Caesar) star. Rise of the Planet of the Apes opens on August 5th!

PLOT
Will Rodman (James Franco) is working on a cure for Alzheimer's by performing tests on apes. The first test subject is Caesar; it genetically modifies his way of thinking to create a new breed of ape with human-like intelligence. Caesar learns well, but human authority continues to test him and contain him. He eventually proves smart enough to break free from his cage and release the cure among other apes, affecting other apes like Caesar. Millions of apes begin to rally up a revolution. War breaks out between humans and apes. Rodman may be the only one able to stop them before the ape revolution succeeds in them becoming the dominant species on the planet.
