The more I see of Zoe Saldana, the harder itis for me to believe she's the same girl who was pretty much an afterthought in Britney Spears' flick,
Crossroads. Now Saldana has lapped that blond bimbo and the other one...what was her name...Taryn Manning, in the acting department a billion times over. She was a key cog in the highest grossing film of all-time in
Avatar
, and she's set to topline her own potential franchise with
Colombiana. But she's still got time for a character piece or two, with
Vulture reporting she's set to star in
Infinitely Polar Bear, produced by JJ Abrams(
Super 8
).
Mark Ruffalo has been attached pretty much since the film came to light last year, with Maya Forbes(
Monsters vs. Aliens
) writing and making her directorial debut. Ruffalo stars as a bipolar father and husband who goes off his medication, causing him to lose his mind and his job. He also starts to lose his marriage, with his wife(Saldana) ultimately taking off and leaving him with the kids. That doesn't sound like a decision any judge would approve of.
When the film will shoot is the question. Ruffalo has
The Avengers on tap, so they'd have to wait for it to wrap up. Saldana tentatively has the
Star Trek
sequel planned for November, but with no director currently confirmed who knows how that will work out.
