Sure Shots: Jacki Weaver; The Paperboy; Lee Pace joins Spielberg's Lincoln biopic

* Jacki Weaver has made the most of her surprise Oscar nom for her vicious turn in Animal Kingdom. She was featured alongside Jason Segel and Emily Blunt in the Judd Apatow produced comedy, Five Year Engagement. And now she's joined the cast of Stoker, the English language debut by South Korean filmmaker Park Chan-Wook. Starring Mia Wasikowska , Nicole Kidman, and Matthew Goode, Stoker is the story of an eccentric girl dealing with the return of her mysterious uncle not long after the death of her father. * Lee Daniels owes David Oyelowo one. After the actor was set to star in the film Selma as Dr. Martin Luther King, the whole thing sorta fell apart. It wasn't anybody's fault, really, and Oyelowo hasn't seen his career slow down anyway. In a couple of weeks he'll be appearing opposite Emma Stone in The Help, and now Daniels has cast him in his crime thriller, The Paperboy. An adaptation of Pete Dexter's novel, the film revolves around a journalist(Matthew McConaughey) and his drop out brother(Zac Efron) investigating a years old murder conviction. Nicole Kidman, John Cusack, and R&B singer Maxwell also star. [Deadline]

* As if there wasn't enough talent on board for Steven Spielberg's Lincoln biopic, he's gone ahead and added Lee Pace(Pushing Daisies, The Fall) to the cast. The film is an adaptation of the book Team of Rivals, which follows the often contentious clash of personalities in Abe Lincoln's Cabinet while on the road to abolition. Pace, who is currently shooting The Hobbit, will play NYC mayor Fernando Wood, supporter of Confederate secession. Dig this cast: Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Daniel Day-Lewis, John Hawkes, Sally Field, Tommy Lee Jones, James Spader, Hal Holbrook, Tim Blake Nelson, David Straithairn, and Bruce McGill. Wow.
