1st look at Henry Cavill as Superman in Man of Steel

I think Warner Brothers has made a very smart move by releasing this first image of Henry Cavill all dolled up as Superman in Zack Snyder's upcoming superhero film, Man of Steel. We've seen how not doing so can lead to literally hundreds of lame, pointless set photos of actors standing around in costume, and basically ruining the effect before the movie even comes close to hitting a theater. Just look at The Dark Knight Rises and all those Bane photos. Anybody think this guy's creepy anymore? Yeah, watching him sip coffee through his mask is real terrifying. 

It was imperative that WB get the jump on all that, and they've chosen a very iconic shot to do it, with Supes busting through a bank vault and sparks flying around. I dig it, and it has an old school look to it. Now what I don't dig is that Mitt Romney hair cut he's sporting. Is this the film where Clark Kent runs for political office?

Man of Steel has commenced shooting, but we still won't see it until June 14th 2013!
