Finally a female joins the cast of Magic Mike
Everyday this week has brought some new bit of casting for Steven Soderbergh's male stripper flick, Magic Mike. Matthew McConaughey, Matt Bomer, and yesterday True Blood's Joe Manganiello have all signed on to strip down to their skivvies and shove their man parts in chick's faces. This comes with the assumption the story focuses on hetero male dancers, otherwise this just turned into a Larry Clark/Gregg Araki Production.
While all the guy roles have fallen into place pretty seamlessly, there's been some behind the scenes wrangling over one of the female roles. Ted Casablanca over at E! reports that Riley Keough, daughter of Lisa Marie Presley and last seen in The Runaways, has nabbed a part which Lindsay Lohan's people had been saying she was on the verge of getting. Oh darn. Another crash 'n burn for Lindsay, who seems to be up for everything until she actually isn't. Man of Steel, the Linda Lovelace biopic, that John Gotti movie. At this point I'm wondering who'll play her in the Lindsay Lohan TV Movie of the Week.
In case you've forgotten since yesterday, Magic Mike stars Channing Tatum as an experienced male stripper who decides to teach a younger dancer(Alex Pettyfer) the ropes(or the pole). McConaughey plays Dallas, an ex-dancer turned club owner. Bomer and Manganiello are two other dancers, with the latter's name reported to be "Big Dick Richie". Keough will play the troubled girlfriend of Pettyfer's character.
If I were Keough I'd watch my back. She won't have an understudy or anything, will she? Stay away from long flights of stairs or walking anywhere alone. No telling how far some jealous actress will go to be in her lucky shoes.
