Hilary Duff and Kevin Zegers no longer playing Bonnie and Clyde

Last month while writing about the upcoming Bonnie and Clyde movie by Neil Burger(The Illusionist), I wondered about the fate of the younger skewing flick we first heard about back in 2009. This one had Hilary Duff and Kevin Zegers(Transamerica) as the famous outlaw couple, with Thora Birch and Taryn Manning co-starring. After a couple of months of news, all reports of it just sort of vanished. That is until now, and basically you can say the whole production is starting from scratch.

THR reports that both Duff and Zegers are no longer involved with the film. "Scheduling conflicts" are the reason given for the departures, and frankly nobody cares about Zegers anyway. The real questions circle Duff, who announced she was pregnant back on August 14th. The film's producers say her condition didn't cause them to let her go, instead claiming Duff's reps said she wouldn't be available to work until next June(duh, because she's pregnant) and they had a schedule to keep.

To be honest it's probably addition by subtraction, anyway. I'd much rather see Birch in the lead role than Duff, so maybe that will be the next move? Producers are actively seeking new leads in time for the start of filming later this year.
