Sure Shots: Dr. Strange; Friday Night Lights; Reese Witherspoon to star in Wish List

* For a character nobody has figured out how to write well in over 40 year, there's been no shortage of folks itching to take a crack at Dr. Strange, the former surgeon turned Sorcerer Supreme. Basically he's a really powerful wizard. Back in June of last year, Marvel hired Joshua Oppenheimer and Thomas Donnelly to pen a script of his adventures, and now Twitch reports that it's been turned in to the studio. No director is attached at this time, and there's no guarantee there won't be more work done on the script. With no Marvel films planned past Iron Man 3, it's expected some of those B-level, lower budgeted films will be filling the void. You think Patrick Dempsey is still interested?

* It was only a couple of weeks ago that Friday Night Lights went off the air for the final time, and it wasn't long after that show creator Peter Berg announced his intention to continue the story of coach Eric Taylor(Kyle Chandler) and his wife Tami(Connie Britton). Now Deadline reports that the film is in active development, with Berg stating that a script is currently being written. Friday Night Lights started as a novel, which sprung to an amazing feature film(directed by Berg), and then a beloved TV series.  Is there a Friday Night Lights comic that I'm missing?

* What the heck happened to Reese Witherspoon? Her career has turned into a steaming pile ever since her Best Actress win for Walk the Line. That was six years ago, folks.  While she was actually really good in Water for Elephants, the movie itself left me a bit cold. Now she's signed on to star in Wish List, a fantasy rom-com for Walt Disney. The film sees her as a woman who made ten wishes at a magic fountain as a kid. Now an adult, the wishes all start coming true at the same time. No word on who'll direct just yet, but it's a little weird that the script was originally fashioned for a male lead. [Deadline]
