) is a more skilled filmmaker than he's given credit for. Does that mean I want to see him tackle a drama centered on the Afghan war? Ehhhhh. After a few years of development, and two directors previously attached, Snyder has decided to direct The Last Photograph himself. His running buddy, Kurt Johnstad(300
), wrote the script about a journalist and an ex-special ops agent inspired to travel to Afghanistan because of a photograph. Sean Penn and Christian Bale had been attached to star, but with Snyder taking this on after he concludes Man of Steel it may be awhile. [Twitch]* Crisis not so much averted as delayed. Universal and Hasbro were set to team up yet again on another board game flick, this one based on the deductive mystery game, Clue

) had been attached to direct, but now Universal has dropped the film unceremoniously. Why? Probably too much money. But that's not stopping Hasbro, as they've hired Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama to write the script anyway. So this thing is going to happen, just somewhere else. Assuming anybody wants to be the culprit behind such a poor idea.
