Maybe George Lucas only stepped in to direct a few scenes of his Tuskegee Airmen flick,
Red Tails, but the intense dogfighting action makes me think his influence is very heavily felt throughout. Directed by Anthony Hemingway(
The Wire,
Treme), the film is the story of those famous African-American fighter pilots during WWII. While the acting looks awful, the special effects are tremendous. Here's hoping the film spends more time in the air than on the ground. Check out the latest trailer below...
Red Tails stars Cuba Gooding Jr., Terrence Howard, Method Man, Bryan Cranston, David Oyelowo, Ne-Yo, Nate Parker, and too many others to name right now. George Lucas produced and developed the story, with a script by John Ridley. Look for it in theaters on January 20th 2012!
