50 Cent joins Nicolas Cage and John Cusack in The Frozen Ground

Ok, The Frozen Ground has just moonbounced it's way to the top of my must-see list. The combination of Nicolas Cage and Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson is something I figured would have to wait until some lousy straight-to-DVD cop flick with a title like Hard Bullet. Instead, the two will get to trade acting tips a lot sooner, as Fitty has signed on to play an 80s era pimp in the crime pic. That's a stretch.  Did I mention he's also producing? Oh yeah, this is gonna be awesome. *snort*

Based on the true story of Alaskan serial killer Robert Hansen, the film has John Cusack in the murderer role. Seriously, Cage is the sane one in this ass backwards flick as Glen Flothe, the Alaskan state trooper on the hunt for Hansen. Vanessa Hudgens recently joined as one of Hansen's escaped victims, who helps set Flothe's investigation on the right path. Hansen killed something north of 20 people between the years 1980-1983.

The only way it could get better is if somehow Mickey Rourke got signed to play the police Commissioner or something.  Written and directed by newcomer, Scott Walker, filming is set to begin in Alaska next month. [Shadow & Act]
