* Another supermodel bit by the acting bug. THR reports that Alexia Fast(Fido) will play a "“seductive young siren" in One Shot, starring Tom Cruise as ex-militaryman Jack Reacher in an adaptation of the novel by Lee Child. The story involves Reacher's investigation into a sniper's alledged killing of five people. Fast's character will somehow be involved in a plot to set up Reacher. Rosamund Pike, David Oyelowo, and Richard Jenkins will star in the film written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie(The Way of the Gun).
* We're still three months away(*grumble grumble*) from Tomas Alfredson's adaptation of spy classic Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, and already franchise talk has begun. The Guardian says an announcement could be made by StudioCanal as soon as next week about the possibility. Gary Oldman recently stated that a sequel could be a combination of the rest of novelist John Le Carre's "Karla Trilogy, The Honourable Schoolboy and Smiley's People. Oldman also stated he'd be willing to return but only if Alfredson comes back. Oldman's character George Smiley is only a supporting character in the second chapter, so maybe that explains the desire to make the sequel a composite. It's all going to depend on how well the film does Stateside when it opens on December 9th.
