Sure Shots: Richard Jenkins; Captain America 2; Paradise Lost

* One Shot may turn out to be a disaster, what with Tom Cruise fitting the role of barrel chested ex-military man Jack Reacher the same way I'd fit into the role of Queen Elizabeth. But whatever, at least the rest of the cast is on point. One of the great character actors(and an awesome lead if you saw The Visitor) in Richard Jenkins has joined the film, which surrounds Reacher's investigation of a sniper accused of killing five people. Jenkins will play the DA prosecuting the sniper. Rosamund Pike and David Oyelowo co-star. Christopher McQuarrie is both writing and directing. [Variety]

* Chris Evans spoke to ThePlaylist about the future of Captain America, after the star spangled Avenger proved to be Marvel's biggest film of the summer. Evans revealed that he's signed on for six films, split evenly between Cap and The Avengers. So with his starring in The Avengers next year, chances are we won't see a Captain America sequel until 2014. I think that's too long to capitalize on any momentum they've built, but we'll see.

* I keep waiting for Camilla Belle to really stake her claim as an upper echelon star, but poor film choices have stunted her rise. After turning heads in The Ballad of Jack and Rose(a personal favorite), she's made nothing but junk ever since(10,000 BC, When a Stranger Calls). Hopefully she's about to turn a corner by playing the original woman in Alex Proyas' adaptation of Paradise Lost. Deadline reports she's his choice for the role of Eve in the biblical battle between good and evil. She'll join Bradley Cooper, Benjamin Walker, Djimon Hounsou, and Casey Affleck.
