Sure Shots: Warren Beatty; Bonnie and Clyde; Stephen Moyer
* Do we really need two Howard Hughes flicks within a decade of eachother? Probably not, but Warren Beatty's film on the life of the eccentric aviation and filmmaking pioneer is one that has caught a lot of attention. Beatty will be writing and starring as Hughes, in a story that's said to take place later in the man's life. While there's been no hard confirmations of other casting(Shia Labeouf possibly as a young Hughes?), Beatty has revealed that the film is no longer under the Paramount banner. Instead it's jumped over to New Regency, which means it'll be distributed by Fox, the studio behing Beatty's last directorial effort, Bulworth. [TheWrap]
* That Bonnie and Clyde film nobody wants and earned Hilary Duff a cool $100,000 to NOT star in is moving forward. With Duff out of the picture, True Blood star Lindsay Pulsipher has been brought in to replace her. Fans of the hit HBO series will recognize her as Jason Stackhouse's panther-morphing love interest, Crystal Norris. That leaves only the "Clyde" role left to be filled, since Kevin Zegers dropped out of the film as well. No word on if the other people rumored to be co-starring in The Adventures of Bonnie and Clyde, namely Thora Birch, are still involved. Probably not at this point. [THR]
* Wow, this is like Six Degrees of Separation today. First some Warren Beatty news, who famously starred in Bonnie and Clyde. The redo of that famous pair gets a True Blood co-star as a lead, and now this story about Stephen Moyer, who stars in that show as vampire Bill Compton. Moyer will now star in The Barrens, a horror by Darren Lynn Bousman(Saw II) dealing with the legend of the Jersey Devil. The film shoots in Toronto this month and should hit theaters next year.
