Quentin Tarantino adds RZA and Misty Upham to Django Unchained

There's no such thing as a "small role" in a Quentin Tarantino film. There may be parts that have fewer lines, but every single character has the potential to breakout if the actor does the job right. Think about what Inglourious Basterds did for guys like Til Schweiger, Daniel Bruhl, and Michael Fassbender. How big were their roles, really? So when I hear that two talented folks like The Wu-Tang Clan's grand master the RZA, and Frozen River's Misty Upham have joined QT's Django Unchained, I sense a couple of possible scene stealers.

RZA, who has successfully gone from hip hop producer to successful actor and soundtrack director(he scored both Kill Bill flicks), will play Thaddeus, a violent slave working on a Mississippi plantation. Upham will be a bar owner named Minnie. Upham was brilliant in Frozen River opposite Melissa Leo a couple of years ago, but I don't think I've seen her since except for a few episodes of Big Love.

The Wu-Tang Clan leader  has been busy as heck the last few months. He's currently wrapping up filming of his martial arts flick, The Man with the Iron Fists, co-written by Eli Roth and co-starring Russell Crowe, Lucy Liu, and Pam Grier. He'll also wrapped a role as the Blind Master in GI Joe: Retaliation.

That should mostly wrap up the cast for Django, although there may be a couple of scattered roles left. My question is whether or not the role RZA just took was the one meant for Michael K. Williams(The Wire)?  [Variety]
