Trailer Time: Wild 7, directed by Eiichiro Hasumi
Think of Wild 7 as a Japanese version of The Dirty Dozen, or for me it was like the DC Comics team known as the Suicide Squad. Wild 7 was one of my earliest introductions into manga, and it's been one of the few properties I still follow in all the various ways it's been adapted over the years. Created in 1969 by Mikiya Mochizuki, Wild 7 follows a special police unit of reformed criminals who have the authority to judge and execute those the cops simply can't touch.
Adapted into a popular but short-lived TV series and into numerous anime over the years, Warner Brothers Japan has been developing a live action film based on the manga for some time, with director Eiichiro Hasumi(Umizaru) behind the camera. With it's December 21st release in Japan right around the corner, a new trailer has been released, which you can check out below. With the popularity of the Wild 7 franchise, don't be surprised if a localized version of the film hits our shores in some capacity...
