It's been so long since we first heard about Juan Solanas' inventive science-fiction romance, Upside Down, that I'd almost forgotten about it. Fortunately, the long wait appears to have been for a good cause, as the film looks fantastic in these new photos(courtesy of Bleeding Cool). The story centers on a childhood love between two people(Jim Sturgess and Kirsten Dunst) who live in alternate inverted universes each with their own gravity. Basically take the "two lovers from different worlds" theme we've seen in hundreds of classic romances, and take it quite literally.
Some of the shots make it look like a cross between Inception and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, which is a combination that should lead to amazing results. I'm anxious for a trailer, and a firm release date. For now I'll have to settle for these beautiful pics, and knowing we'll see the film some time next year...
