Oh hey, lookit that. Even more John Carter stuff. I get it, Disney, you don't want your massively budgeted, high risk sci-fi flick to get lost in all the hype for The Dark Knight Rises and every other franchise flick coming out over the next few months.This new IMAX poster, featuring star Taylor Kitsch in battle with two of the giant "white apes" we've seen previously is a damn good move.
Kitsch will play war weary ex-soldier, John Carter, who is magically whisked off to Mars where he discovers....more war. Only this time it's between the battling nations of the distant planet, and Carter quickly finds himself enveloped in the dispute. Willem Dafoe, Mark Strong, Samantha Morton, Lynn Collins, Thomas Haden Church, Ciaran Hinds, and Bryan Cranston co-star. Pixar vet Andrew Stanton is behind the camera. John Carter is due to open in IMAX and 3D next year on March 9th.
