Trailer Time: The Dark Knight Rises, starring Christian Bale and Tom Hardy

I'm  pretty happy that we didn't succumb to temptation and put up one of those awful bootleg versions of The Dark Knight Rises trailer. Best to just wait and experience the real thing, without some jackoff laughing and cheering while he records. Well, the wait is finally over for those of you who haven't already seen it in theaters yet. Check out the trailer for the most anticipated film of 2012 below....

We discussed this a little bit on the show last night, and I continue to think the trailer is a touch disappointing. Batman kinda gets lost amidst all the new characters, with Christopher Nolan really wanting to show us a taste of everything without spoiling too much, and there is a hell of a lot going on. Selina Kyle(Anne Hathaway) is being all cryptic....Bane(Tom Hardy) is gathering his army...and Jim Gordon(Gary Oldman) is on the outs with the public. Something has gone wrong in the years since Batman disappeared, and Bruce Wayne looks like the last man who can stop it.

What works is Nolan's ability to make his films appear huge, and this final installment of his Bat-Saga feels truly epic. For once, it's not so certain that things are going to end happily, and that image of Bane walking away from Batman's shattered cowl may be more prophetic than anyone would have thought. One thing is for sure, and it's that Hines Ward has never run so fast in his NFL career.

We've still got a long way to go folks, so get yourself ready and mark those calendars for July 20th![Thanks to Comingsoon.net for the ebed]
