What once looked promising now appears to be a cheaply made, throw away alien invasion flick. And unfortunately it all started going downhill for The Darkest Hour once we started to see more of the aliens themselves, who are invisible energy beings or something. Makes for some cool looking kills, but otherwise this has "guilty pleasure" written all over it when once it looked legitimately special. Oh well.
The film's hook is that it takes place in Moscow, as four gorgeous young Americans(Emile Hirsch, Olivia Thirlby, Max Minghella), Rachael Taylor) race for their lives when the creatures begin to take over the joint. Chris Gorak is directing, with special effects wiz Timur Bekmambetov(Wanted) producing.
