Will Ferrell is a bad ass gringo in new poster for 'Casa de mi Padre'
Aye dios mio! Los papas fritas! Or something like that. My Spanish isn't so good, but I'm guessing it won't be much of a problem when it comes to Casa de mi Padre. We've seen a pair of trailers already for Will Ferrell's rather ambitious Spanish-language comedy, and both look crazy and overwrought like something off of late night Telemundo.
From the "gringos who brought you Anchorman", Ferrell plays Armando Alvarez, who has worked and lived on his father's failing ranch in Mexico all his life. As the bills mount, all appears to be saved with the arrival of his successful brother, Raul(Diego Luna), and his sexy new fiance, Sonia(Genesis Rodriguez). But when Armando falls in love with Sonia, and Raul's business proves to be a little murky, things spiral out of control as they get in deep with a violent drug lord(Gael Garcia Bernal).
The latest poster for the film continues painting Armando as some sort of epic hero, even though he looks to be more of an epic goof. He'll probably stumble into victory somehow, in true Will Ferrell fashion. I'm curious to see how this film plays to American audiences .We'll find out when it rides into theaters on March 16th.
