1st look at Ryan Kwanten and Amy Smart in '7500'

Somebody somewhere has decided that the new cool place to trap people with some sort of deadly supernatural force is on a jet plane. As if being stuck in one of those flying petri dishes with a bunch of sick people isn't enough, now we have to contend with malevolent spirits and shit. I guess that's better than being confined with Samuel L. Jackson and a bunch of CGI snakes.

Entertainment Weekly has our first look at 7500, the latest thriller from Takash Shimizu, the guy I'm still holding responsible for The Grudge and it's more irritating sequel.  Pulling liberally from the HBO series stockpile, the film stars Ryan Kwanten(True Blood), Jerry Ferrara(Entourage), Amy Smart, Leslie Bibb, Christian Serratos(The Twilight Saga), Jamie Chung, Scout Taylor-Compton, and Jonathan Schaech as a bunch of people on a transpacific flight terrorized by a demon or something. Sounds silly, and with a cast like that I'm hoping it aims a bit more for comedy than genuine scares. Then again, that's not exactly Shimizu's strong suit.

7500 will touch down in theaters on August 31st.
