If the few images we've seen from Argo are anything to go by, we're going to be seeing a lot less of the famed "Canadian Caper" in action, and much more of the behind the scenes stuff that put the risky plan into effect. Directed by Ben Affleck, and clearly being positioned as another Oscar hopeful just like The Town, Argo tells of the plan to cooked up between the Canadian and American governments(with a helping hand from Hollywood) to rescue some diplomats out of Tehran during the 1979 Iran hostage crisis. Their plan, which sounds like something dreamed up by Wile E. Coyote, involved creating a fake movie shoot as cover to smuggle them out.
The latest image features Affleck as CIA covert operations expert Tony Mendez, as he appears to be going over the nuts and bolts of the plot with his team. I can't really make out anybody else in this shot, with the exception of Kerry Bishe because other than Clea Duvall she's like the only female. Alan Arkin, Bryan Cranston, John Goodman, Kyle Chandler, Rory Cochrane, Christopher Denham, Tate Donovan, Victor Garber, Zeljko Ivanek, Richard Kind, Scoot McNairy, Chris Messina, Michael Parks and Taylor Schilling make up what is a spectacular roster of talent.
