Lily Collins departs the 'Evil Dead' remake; 'Despicable Me 2' loses Javier Bardem

A couple of quick notes on some movies that are back to square one on the casting front. The first is the remake of Sam Raimi's Evil Dead, which is being helmed by Spanish filmmaker Fede Alvarez. At this stage, the only casting we had heard so far was Lily Collins(The Blind Side), playing a recovering drug addict who must pull her sh*t together when actual demons start attacking her and her friends. Collins has now had to drop out due to what is being described as "scheduling conflicts". Or because the movie will suck, but that's just my two cents.

Also, Javier Bardem was recently in talks to voice a villain named El Macho in the upcoming sequel to Despicable Me. He's now left that project with the role back up for grabs. Considering Bardem's busy schedule, with Skyfall coming up and a possible film/television adaptation of The Dark Tower, it's no wonder he couldn't fit it in.
