New photo introduces us to the 'Gangster Squad'!

It makes sense that the first image of the entire Gangster Squad together should be in the LA Times. The mob flick, directed by Ruben Fleischer(Zombieland) is based on an article by Paul Lieberman in the newspaper, about an elite team of officers in the 1940s established to stop the influence of east coast mobsters in Los Angeles. The script comes from ex-cop turned scribe, Will Beale, and if the cast doesn't sound amazing on paper they look pretty darn cool when assembled.

On the side of good are Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling, Michael Pena, Anthony Mackie, and Robert Patrick, all seen in the above image. Their job is to put a stop to Mickey Cohen(Sean Penn), the infamous member of the Jewish Mafia based out of Los Angeles. Emma Stone, Nick Nolte, Giovanni Ribisi, Mirielle Enos, Josh Pence, Troy Garity, Frank Grillo, and Sullivan Stapleton comprise the rest of the impressive cast.

I've always had a soft spot for the style of the era, and the wars that raged in the streets during the Prohibition Era, so this is one I can't wait for.  Gangster Squad will be making a big splash when it opens on October 19th.
