Sure Shots: J.J. Abrams; 'The Devil Inside; 'Lovelace'

 * J.J. Abrams and Matt Reeves are pairing up to produce a new action flick for their Bad Robot productions. The untitled project will be directed by Brad Parker, who just made his debut on The Diary of Lawson Oxford, a post-apocalyptic thriller from Oren Peli(Paranormal Activity). Details on the film are unknown at this point, but with Paramount picking up distribution rights there must be a lot of love for the script by Michael Gilio. [Variety]

* After The Devil Inside opened with over $34M against a budget of only about $1M, it's no wonder William Brent Bell and Matthew Peterman are suddenly such a hot commodity. Besides rumors of a possible sequel to the exorcism horror, earlier this week the duo agreed with Warner Brothers to take on another found footage horror titled The Vatican. Now the pair are set to tackle what is being called the "Untitled Bell/Peterman Project", a horror set to begin filming in Romania in April. The style is said to be similar to that of The Devil Inside, and will take on another classic horror mythology. Romania? Sounds like Dracula to me. [Shocktilyoudrop]

* Cory Hardrict(Battle: Los Angeles) and Debi Mazar(Entourage) are the latest to join Lovelace, the better looking of the two biopics on Deep Throat porn star, Linda Lovelace. Amanda Seyfried and Peter Sarsgaard lead the ensemble, which also features Sharon Stone, Robert Patrick, Juno Temple, Hank Azaria, Bobby Cannavale, Wes Bentley, Chris Noth, and cameos by Demi Moore and James Franco. Hardrict will play DJ Frankie Crocker, who if you've ever seen images of the old Studio 54, he was the guy who rode into the club on a white stallion. Seriously. Mazar will play Dolly Sharp, Lovelace's co-star in the legendary porn film. [Variety]
