Isabelle Fuhrman joins Will and Jaden Smith in 'After Earth'
Even though she's set to play Clove, one of the Tributes in Gary Ross's adaption of The Hunger Games, Isabelle Fuhrman is probably going to be remembered most for Orphan, in which she played a doll-like Russian who stalks her adopted family. She's fantastic in it, and the 14-year old's career appears to be on a serious upswing. And now it looks like she'll be jumping into the world of science fiction, as she's in talks to join the film once known as One Thousand A.E.
Now going by the title of After Earth, the film stars Will and Jaden Smith as a father and son who must fight for survival after their ship crashes on earth, one thousand years after humanity has abandoned it. The focus appears to be on Jaden's character, who takes over when the father is critically injured. M. Night Shyamalan is directing, but fortunately he's nowhere near the script, with a rewrite recently provided by Stephen Gaghan(Traffic).
Zoe Kravitz and Sophie Okenedo co-star, with Fuhrman playing a friend of Jaden's character. After some delays, production should kick off in March for a June 7th 2013 release. [THR]
