Trailer Time: 'Jeff, Who Lives At Home', starring Ed Helms and Jason Segel

If you know the names Jay and Mark Duplass, then you're probably familiar with the low budget, unknown actor movement they've become famous for. Known as "mumblecore", it's sortof become a dirty word of late, especially as the Duplass boys have been snagging bigger celebrities to their flicks. I don't see why, because to me mumblecore was about more than just money, but also that each film emphasized story driven characters and finding humor through intelligent, honest insights.

Their style probably is never going to marry up with more mainstream comedies like The Hangover, but that's part of the appeal. If you saw Cyrus back in 2010, you had a chance to see Jonah Hill give that first real glimpse of a deeper, more serious actor(like in Moneyball), and yet the film is still hilarious.  For the Duplass brothers' next flick, Jeff, Who Lives At Home, they'll try to do the same for Ed Helms and Jason Segel.

The duo play a pair of brothers, on very different courses of life. Pat(Helms) is going through a midlife crisis(he wants the car and everything) and thinks his wife(Judy Greer) is cheating on him. Jeff(Segel) is a stoner who lives at home with their mother(Susan Sarandon).

The latest trailer probably isn't going to surprise you with the the direction it takes, with lessons about growing up and the difficulties of adult relationships being a central theme. What I like is that it doesnt' appear to be trying too hard, either for laughs or heart. Helms showed he could still be funny while dialing it back in Cedar Rapids, and Segel has been on an absolute tear. I can't wait to see how this pans out.

Jeff Who Lives At Home opens on March 16th. Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think!
