1st 'Skyfall' teaser poster features old school James Bond style

We're only into the third James Bond movie of the Daniel Craig era, and already the franchise was in desperate need of a fresh approach. The problems had nothing to do with Craig, as many would say he's arguably the best Bond we've had in quite awhile, and certainly more in keeping with Ian Fleming's interpretation of the character. The big problem has had to do with establishing a firm tone. Casino Royale was properly aggressive in keeping with the more physical style that Craig brought to the table, but the mediocre Quantum of Solace just meandered along without much direction. With Sam Mendes coming aboard to helm Skyfall, the 23rd film in the series, the hope is that he can set things back on the right course.

So it's kind of funny that in order to take Bond into the future, they're relying quite a bit on classic Bond style and imagery. The first teaser poster for the film has been released, and it's old school Bond all the way, with the super spy walking through the familiar gun barrel. Simple and effective stuff, which should make the many James Bond diehards very happy.

Craig will be joined by Javier Bardem, Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, Albert Finney, Berenice Marlohe, and Ola Rapace. Look for it to open on November 9th. [007.com]
