Trailer Time: '009 Re: Cyborg', directed by Kenji Kamiyama

With a handful of television anime series, a pair of radio dramas, and three previous theatrical films, Shotaro Ishinomori's classic Cyborg 009 manga has been adapted more than almost any other. With Kenji Kamiyama tackling the latest film, now titled 009 Re: Cyborg(oh those Japanese and their wacky titles), I think we may be about to see the best one yet.

Kamiyama previously directed the beautiful Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, but for this film he's venturing for the first time into full 3D animation. The story follows nine regular people, who are unwittingly transformed into cyborgs by the evil Black Ghost organization, who are hoping to start another World War. The cyborgs have other plans, however, and rebel against their creators.

We've seen a teaser version of the trailer released back in February, but with the release of this full four-minute one, in English no less, I'm more convinced than ever we'll see the film here in America. Sweet!
